Why is it so hard to find unread messages in Outlook 2010?
In many past versions of Microsoft Outlook there was a simple list of message views available and one of the choices was ‘Unread Messages’. It’s a popular option because many people use the Read/Unread status to mark messages that need action (eg reply, forwarding etc).
In Outlook 2010 this option is default no longer available. But, there is an solution.
From the View ribbon select Change view.
Click on Manage Views
Copy the current view
Give the copy a name.
Click Filter
On the tab ‘More Choices’ you check the checkbox ‘unread’, and click OK
OK
OK
When you click again on the button Change View in the View ribbon you see the new saved view.
When you right click the new view, click on ‘Add Gallery to Quick Access Toolbar’.
You now see the View gallery in the Quick Access Toolbar on the upper left corner of the Outlook screen
